Community is at the center of our values and mission statement at EdgeCore. We pride ourselves on actively contributing to the communities we serve and creating deep connections that last.
For instance, our collaboration with the City of Mesa ensures that our metro Phoenix data center campus coexists with nearby residential and community areas. EdgeCore had municipality buy-in from day one in Mesa and we aim to build the same level of partnership in every community with an EdgeCore facility.
At EdgeCore, we take a holistic approach to sustainability. By balancing cost with responsible construction and operations practices, we design our data centers to meet green building standards such as LEED and Energy Star. We avoid locating facilities in ecologically sensitive areas and consider how our approach to powering and cooling impacts surrounding communities and the environment.
EdgeCore collaborates on sustainability initiatives at national and local levels. Our memberships in the Data Center Coalition and iMason’s Climate Accord enable us to partner with like-minded companies to advocate for beneficial green building and energy practices throughout the U.S.
We work with local municipalities and utilities in each data center market to offer renewable electricity options. We are dedicated to improving our power utilization efficiency (PUE) ratings by continuously re-evaluating our designs and operations to ensure we produce PUEs far under the industry standard.
Water is an essential resource that has become increasingly scarce in some regions of the U.S. EdgeCore is always looking for new ways to refine our data center designs and practices to ensure we use as little water as possible in our operations.
We implement air-cooled designs that include ultra-efficient close-looped chilled water systems. As a result, our Phoenix and Reno data centers carry an industry benchmark water usage effectiveness (WUE) rating below .01 L/kWh, a benefit to both the environment and our tenants' total cost of ownership.
EdgeCore implements comprehensive waste management programs across our campuses to significantly minimize landfill contributions. We partner with local municipalities to establish zero waste initiatives, diverting construction and operational waste through recycling and responsible disposal practices. By continuously evaluating our resource consumption and waste streams, we reduce our environmental footprint while lowering operational costs for our customers.
Safety is a core value at EdgeCore, as evidenced by our top-down executive leadership focus that prioritizes, values, and rewards a safe, open, and honest culture by providing employees and vendors with the necessary skills, risk awareness techniques, and risk control capabilities to empower them to confidently manage and mitigate risks. Our EHS programs are designed to prioritize the health and well-being of every employee, vendor, customer, and visitor during both construction and daily operations.
Our unwavering dedication to data center construction and operational safety is reflected in our goal of achieving zero work-related serious injuries and fatalities. EdgeCore’s certification and training programs are key to achieving that goal by providing an awareness of risks and safe practices throughout the organization, and by empowering employees to ensure safety is no secret.
Certifications and training programs at EdgeCore include:
- OSHA certification for all employees
- AED, CPR, and First Aid training and certifications for all security, operations, and construction team members.
- Monthly safety training and drills that are tailored to the specific roles of our employees so that safety remains at the forefront of daily operations. This includes emergency preparedness to ensure all team members are equipped to handle potential safety incidents should they arise.
- Annual EHS training for all employees to ensure every member of our team is equipped with the most current knowledge and best practices.
EdgeCore is a founding member of the Data Center Safety Council (DCSC), an industrywide forum dedicated to working collaboratively to ensure the safety and wellbeing of data center workers worldwide. The DCSC addresses common issues and seeks consistent, long-term solutions through knowledge sharing and collaboration, standardization of best practices, and defining resources for training and development.
We place integrity and transparency at the center of our business practices. By holding our employees, vendors, and suppliers to the highest ethical standards through required annual training and contractual commitments, we ensure EdgeCore is viewed as a partner of choice by our customers and the communities in which we do business.

In cases of potential misconduct, individuals are encouraged to report a violation through our anonymous, confidential, third-party ethics hotline.
At EdgeCore, we design and operate our facilities to meet the most stringent industry standards. Our control environment is aligned with ISO 27001, SOC2 Type II, and PCI-DSS standards, and we work with a certification body to provide independent attestations.
The ISO 27001 is an international standard that focuses on information security. Its framework outlines the standards for establishing, implementing, maintaining, and continuously improving an organization’s information security management system (ISMS).
This certification reflects EdgeCore’s commitment to maintaining the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our clients’ sensitive data.
SOC 2 Type II is an auditing standard that assesses an organization’s controls and processes related to security, availability, processing integrity, confidentiality, and privacy.
EdgeCore is SOC 2 Type II compliant which illustrates our dedication to protecting our clients’ information while maintaining the availability and integrity of their services.
The Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard, or PCI-DSS, is a set of security standards designed to protect credit card data during transactions. It covers areas including network security, physical security, access controls, encryption, vulnerability management, and ongoing monitoring.
Our PCI-DSS certification represents EdgeCore’s commitment to maintaining a secure and available environment for processing payment transactions and instilling confidence in our customer’s payment ecosystem.
FedRAMP certification applies to organizations with a cloud service offering. We assist cloud service providers in demonstrating the controls necessary to obtain FedRAMP certification.
