The future of EdgeCore is designed for density.

EdgeCore’s Mesa campus is the first of our sites that was built with power density and minimal water usage as the primary goals. Our focus in Mesa is on maximizing cost-effective capacity while preserving the region’s critical water resources.

Sustainability in Mesa

We know that water is an invaluable natural resource, particularly in the western part of the U.S. where water scarcity has become a major issue. That’s why we implemented an air-cooled design in our Mesa data centers, including an ultra-efficient closed-looped chilled water system, which utilizes very little water to cool our facilities and carries a benchmark water usage effectiveness (WUE) rating below .01 L/kWh. Additionally, EdgeCore invests in responsible watershed maintenance, offers our customers renewable energy options at our facilities, and maintains continual efforts to ensure the best possible power usage effectiveness (PUE) ratings in Mesa and throughout our data center portfolio.

“We are pleased to see EdgeCore moving forward with the expansion of their air-cooled data center campus in Mesa. EdgeCore’s sustainable approach to providing critical data center service is important to the City of Mesa.”

Our Community Impact in Mesa

EdgeCore’s Phoenix data center campus was designed in collaboration with the City of Mesa to ensure our facilities would coexist with the residential and community areas nearby. Since breaking ground on our first building, EdgeCore has committed our time, efforts, and financial resources to support local organizations and sustainability measures in several ways.

Local Organizational Involvement

  • Member of the Mesa Chamber of Commerce and Tech Council sub-committee
  • Member of the 24×7 Exchange Arizona Chapter focused on sharing best practices and discussing mission critical technology sustainability initiatives

Sustainability Measures

  • Implemented an ultra-efficient closed-loop chilled water system (which carries an industry benchmark water usage effectiveness (WUE) rating below .01 L/kWh) to cool our data centers using very little water
  • Designed and implemented a waste management program that aligns with the Zero Waste International Alliance’s zero waste hierarchy and is intended to reduce the total amount of waste on our Mesa campus by an estimated 90%
  • Selected native southwestern plants for our landscaping to ensure low water usage and attractive aesthetics for the exterior of our buildings

Community Engagement

EdgeCore is proud to have sponsored:

  • The Lights On Program, which works to create positive interactions between communities and law enforcement
